This screen shows the current position of the focuser and provides the capability to command the focuser to a specific position or to nudge the focuser.

Current Position:
This section displays the current focuser position.
Moving Led:
Below the position is the Moving led which will light
up red whenever the focuser is in motion.
Nudge Buttons: You
can nudge the focuser with the up button
or the down button
. Pressing
these buttons has the same effect as pressing the buttons on the hand
controller to move the focuser. The
counts will initially move at a slower rate to allow small movements but
will ramp up to the fastest rate within about 2 seconds.
Moving the Focuser to a Target Position:
The target position edit box can be used to command the
focuser to a specific position. Just
enter the desired position into the edit box and then hit the
button.
Reset the Current Focuser Position:
The focuser
operates as an absolute position focuser but due to the wide range of
motion found on some focusers the capability to reset the current position
is provided. Pressing
the
button will reset the focuser position to the value
currently in the Target Position edit box described above. This
will not move the focuser. It
only changes the position shown on the focuser. A
dialog will popup asking the user to confirm the reset operation. Normally
you would focus your telescope and then use this feature to reset the
current position to 5000. This
will insure that you will have full range of motion for performing autofocusing.
The focuser
will remember it's position when powered down so if you do not move your
focuser with the focuser powered down you should not need to reset the
position every time.
Stored Positions:
The Stored Positions feature allow the user to save named
preset focuser positions. Hit
the combo box arrow
to display the list of positions
you have saved. Initially
this list will be blank. To
store a new position you need to move the focuser to the position you
wish to store, type a name for this position into the edit box, then hit
the
button. The
current focuser position will be saved into the registry with the name
you provided. If
you select a name that already exists and hit the
button
then it will overwrite that named position with the current focuser position.
To use
a stored position just select the desired position from the drop-down
combo box. The
value associated with that stored position will be echoed into the Target
Position edit box. Then
you just hit the
button to command the focuser to that
position. You
can remove a stored position by selecting the name for the position you
want to remove and then hitting the
button.
Halting Movement: You
can halt any movement of the focuser by pressing the
button.
If temperature
compensation is active when this button is selected the focuser will drop
out of temperature compensation mode.
