Installing the Motor Housing

Shown here is a Feathertouch SCT Microfocuser (available from Starizona) for a C14.  All Feathertouch focusers have the same interface with the fine brass knob and the coarse black knob so these instructions apply to all of them.

First you remove the fine brass knob by loosening the set screw with a 1/16" Allen wrench.

Next remove the coarse black knob by loosening the set screw with a 1/16" Allen wrench.

Here is what the focuser looks like with both knobs removed.

Then install the supplied gear onto the shaft.  Making the gear flush with the end of the shaft should provide the proper spacing to insure that this gear will engage the gear inside the motor housing.  Tighten the set screw with a 0.05" Allen wrench.

Finally carefully slide the motor housing onto the silver portion of the focuser.  Secure the motor housing to the focuser by tightening the screw with a 7/64" Allen wrench.
