Installing USB Drivers On Windows XP

The MicroTouch software must be installed on your computer because you will be navigating the Hardware Wizard to your installation directory to find the USB driver files.

The jumper that configures the hand controller for RS-232 or USB communications must be configured for USB.

Connect the hand controller device to your computer with the USB cable.

Note:  On XP operating systems you should see a systray balloon popup showing that the device was connected as shown here:

After a few seconds you should see the "Found New Hardware Wizard" appear as shown below.  Select the option titled "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click the Next button.

You should now see the dialog shown below.  Insure that the "Include this location in the search:" checkbox is selected and hit the Browse button to navigate to the directory where the software was installed.

Note: Your directory path will look like the dialog shown below if you did not change the default installation directory.

You will now get the warning dialog shown below because the driver for the USB chip has not undergone Windows Logo testing.

Just select to proceed.

The driver files have now been installed and your installation is complete.

Select to close the dialog.
