The hand controller must be connected to a PC if you want to use the MicroTouch application software or any other ASCOM compatible focuser software. You can either use an RS-232 cable or a USB cable to attach the hand controller to your PC but you must have configured the jumper in your hand controller for the interface your using as described here.
